What's unique about Ewenique?

Hi, my name is Debbie Lamb, and I'm the gal behind The Lathered Lamb. I'm a soap maker, a knitter, a quilter, a wife for over 30 years, and a homeschool mom to four children, who are establishing their own families. Every item in my shop is handmade by me with care and attention to detail.

Because my last name is Lamb, over the years I have enjoyed collecting sheep themed items.  As I considered expanding my interest in knitting, soap making, and quilting into a little business, a focus on the "lamb" theme as a part of my brand identity seemed to be a natural fit.  I use the name, "Ewenique" as my online name in different forums. Ewes Soap, my previous business name, is another play on words because everyone should "use soap."  Now known as The Lathered Lamb, my handcrafted items include handmade soaps, hand knit scarves, and knitted cotton dish cloths, just like Grandma used to make.

My handcrafted luxury soap is made using the cold process method of soap making, where sodium hydroxide is mixed with oils and butters resulting in a chemical reaction which produces natural soap. I make soap in my kitchen. I develop soap formulas which produce soaps with silky, bubbly lather that gently cleans the skin. My artisan soap is made with fine vegetable oils and butters, scented with body safe fragrance oils, and colored with natural pigments. I often include other special skin loving ingredients like clays, oatmeal, milks, and silk. However, no sheep milk is used in my luxury soaps. I live in the 'burbs - no sheep, goats, or chickens allowed.

Not a day goes by when my hands aren't busy making something pretty and practical. Every item is made to be useful and enjoyed. There is beauty in something as simple as a knitted dish cloth and as ordinary as a bar of soap. My handcrafted items make special hostess and housewarming gifts or stocking stuffers. Many are one of a kind items. If you appreciate the beauty and quality of handmade, consider The Lathered Lamb. You are sure to find something unique.

I've enjoyed the challenge of learning how to set up an online shop, write blog posts, and all the other tasks that go along with that. I'm just an ordinary gal, but your kind comments made my day.
